Drug Addiction

Drug Addiction can be Devastating

Addiction is a very frustrating illness, not just for the people suffering from it, but also for their families and loved ones.  The addict at first feels like it is something that they can control.  They quit, they relapse, they quit again.  But relapse seems to be right around the corner, despite a strong will and desire to stop.  The person suffering from the addiction may feel shame due to their string of broken promises, and they feel like they must be a weak person because they can’t seem to stop.  Obviously, it is extraordinarily frustrating for everyone involved.  When addiction plays itself out, it can destroy families and ruin lives.

Causes of Drug Addiction

There are different types of drug addiction, but all have similar results on the person, their life, and their families.  Prescription drug addiction is one of the most common types of addiction seen in this country.  Rates have risen alarmingly in recent years, as people turn to their own medicine cabinets as sources of their addiction.  Of course, non-prescription drug addiction is the other half of the equation.  Non-prescription opiates (heroin), cocaine, marijuana, and crystal methamphetamine are commonly treated at Affirmations drug rehab

It is known that genetics, family history, anxiety, depression, trauma, childhood issues, and other factors can contribute to or cause a person to develop an addiction to drugs.  Generally, we believe that drug addiction is a disease.  However, it is a disease that is quite treatable. Given the correct methods and the right people, combined with your hard work and continued effort, you can soon be living a life free of drugs.  A life of sobriety, hope, and truly feeling alive again!

Drug Treatment Program: a Multi-Faceted Approach

At Affirmations’ drug rehab program, we believe that drug addiction, along with other addictions, should be treated by addressing the root causes, “stinkin” thinking, triggers, and co-occurring illnesses that may be preventing you from living a life of sobriety.  This means that your drug treatment is going to have a multi-faceted, integrated approach in which you will experience many types of therapeutic interventions.  Therefore, we don’t “hammer” you with one approach as some other treatment programs are known to do.  Instead, we work as a team with you to fight addiction on many different battlefronts.  A multi-faceted disease requires a multi-faceted treatment approach.  That’s exactly what you will need to get on the path of a sustained recovery.

When you come to Affirmations for drug treatment, you have chosen a program that heals you from both the inside as well as the outside.  Your physical, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive realms will all take part in the healing process through our multi-faceted approach.
